A native of Cologne, Stephan Schmickler moved to eastern Switzerland in 2010. He then successfully completed an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker in Sarn and worked in this profession until 2016. For health reasons, Stephan reoriented himself and began a four-year internship in Zizers as a systems technician with an accompanying high school diploma at the Interstate Maturity School for Adults (ISME). He then completed his training as an EFZ systems technician at the School of Business, Information Technology and Real Estate (WISS) in St. Gallen. During this time, Stephan worked as a junior security analyst in Zurich and was able to acquire in-depth knowledge in the field of cyber security. With the experience he gained, Stephan returned to Graubünden and now works as an IT project employee at the University of Applied Sciences Graubünden.
In his free time, Stephan likes to relax with a game of chess, enjoy nature with occasional hikes through the mountains or listening to a good audio book.
