Project at a glance
The technological and data-based developments of the digital transformation provide companies with new opportunities (e.g. forward-looking maintenance) and, on this basis, the chance to offer data-based services (e.g. guaranteed machine availability, pay-per-piece).
The research project sponsored by Innosuisse reveals that the sustainable implementation of data-based services necessitates the optimisation of the sociotechnical system. The objective is to develop an approach and a set of methods on the basis of which the measures for man, technology and organisation (MTO) can be taken into account and coordinated with one another. The research project includes the following activities: (1) Develop data-based services, (2) demonstrate the necessity for the optimisation of the entire system, (3) derive MTO measures taking account of the sociotechnical optimisation of the entire system, (4) accompany their implementation (e.g. programming of platforms, development of AI, data analysis, restructuring of organisations and processes, training programmes for employees).
