Vision 2036

Vision 2036

We are now drawing to the end of our start-up phase as the eighth public university of applied sciences in Switzerland and have established ourselves on the national stage. Building on this, we will pursue the following updated vision over the coming years:

'As an agile university, we look to the future with courage and sustainability in mind.'

'As a university, it is our task to make new findings, circulate knowledge and skills and thus work for the benefit of society.'
Prof. Dr. phil. Gian-Paolo Curcio, President of University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons
Mission

Mission

The heart of our mission is based on the long-term fulfilment of our fourfold performance mandate. Adopting a scientific approach, we consistently strive to do what a university should, by offering relevant application-oriented solutions. Building on this, the existing mission has been honed further in an evolutionary manner.

Our refined mission is informed by our understanding of the tasks to be fulfilled:

  • Our teaching is based on practical challenges in the economy and society.
  • The research is inter- and transdisciplinary and develops solutions to relevant problems.
  • We train our students to become responsible individuals.
  • We contribute to the success and competitiveness of our stakeholders.
  • We are anchored in the region, really count for something in Switzerland and have an international appeal.
Values

Values

Our decisions and actions are shaped by the following values and the guiding principles derived from them:

Respect
‘We treat each other with respect and fairness and in doing so recognise the value our university’s diversity brings.’

Forward-looking approach
‘We openly embrace changes as challenges and take action.’

Reflective attitude
‘We act reflectively and transparently and adopt a constructive attitude.’

Responsibility
'We act in an entrepreneurial and responsible manner.'
