The name of this research field could also be "Applied AI" or simply "AI." With these additions, we want to emphasise our applications of AI. Currently, we employ classical machine learning and data analysis in various fields: geodata clustering, time series analysis, process mining, and more. These and other areas are increasingly being "taken over" by deep learning, particularly through deep neural networks based on the transformer architecture. A rapidly growing field is RAG using large language models (LLMs), as well as applications in software development. Additionally, image analysis is expected to gain greater significance.
