Mentoring

Mentoring

Mentoring – in tandem on the road to success

Personal contacts, connections and interpersonal relationships among the parties concerned are part of business life. Growing into social relationship nets requires practice, time and care. Besides networking support, a mentoring programme also offers support during the professional and personal development of the young talent and provides insights into day-to-day working life.

University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons has been offering interested students in their last year of study the option to network with specialist and management staff from business as part of the mentoring programme for many years. In this way, it supports the personal career development and in particular the successful transition of students from study to professional life. Last but not least, the traditional close relationship between the Universities of Applied Sciences and business is strengthened in the process.

The contact lasting over a period of around nine months provides an opportunity to discuss how the students' studies are developing and look at their planning. The following main goals can be mentioned in particular:

  • Provide students with contact to the professional world
  • Provide students with practical help to prepare them for the demands of the professional world
  • Motivate students to plan their own career in a targeted manner
  • Set up networks

Long Night of Careers

Long Night of Careers

The 'Long Night of Careers' (LNdK) is a joint event of the Career Services of sixteen Swiss universities. It aims to offer students and employers a different sort of access to the topics of career, future options and the working world.

If your studies are coming to the end, you will soon need to start looking for a job. The Long Night of Careers is offered by University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons in autumn every year so that embarking on a career is not seen as a hurdle and can be mastered with aplomb.

It is not a run-of-the-mill job fair for students. Here firms not only have the opportunity to present their companies with a trade fair stand but also to actively address the participants.

The target groups are all students of the bachelor’s and consecutive master’s degree programmes at University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons.

Updates about the next Long Night of Careers will follow.
