Overview
Chur is the capital city of the canton of the Grisons, Switzerland's largest holiday region. Holiday destinations famous throughout the world, such as Arosa, Davos Klosters, Flims Laax Falera, Lenzerheide and St. Moritz are not far away and easily accessible from Chur. Chur is the only city in Switzerland to have its own summer and winter sport resort: Brambrüesch.
At the UAS Grisons, there are various student associations where you can meet new people, talk about your study programme or participate in social and sporting events. In addition, the university sport programme of the UAS Grisons offers a wide range of courses and activities in which you can discover the sporting side of Chur – such as the climbing hall with an outdoor climbing area.
Chur is well connected with public and private transport. There are regular train or bus connections to Zurich, St. Gallen and the main Grisons valleys.

Rent fraud
Be aware of cyber criminals offering rooms or alleged rental properties on the Internet.
- You should also be wary of offers that appear "too good to be true".
- Inspect the rental property yourself or, if this is not possible, have it inspected by a person you trust.
- Be careful when transferring money. The request to make an online bank transfer is often a sign of a fraud, as electronic bank transfers can rarely be reversed.
- Use common sense and be alert to anything that doesn't add up.
