T Lan Tran is a senior lecturer at the Institute for Tourism and Leisure ITF. She is responsible for the cooperation of the FHGR with the Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) in China, among other things, and teaches and researches in the areas of intercultural competencies and tourism habitats in transition.
After studying German Studies (German as a Foreign Language) at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, the Australian National University in Canberra and the University of Hong Kong, she worked for almost ten years as a lecturer for the Goethe-Institut in Singapore, Vietnam and China. In 2009, she completed her doctorate in the field of language acquisition research at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena on the teaching and learning behavior of Vietnamese students.
From 2008 to 2010, she was responsible for an educational initiative of the German Foreign Ministry for the entire South China region (including Taiwan and Hong Kong). Here she gained extensive experience in working with Chinese schools, universities and education authorities.
After moving to Austria, she moved to the private sector and worked as Communication Manager for the Swarovski Group, responsible for the internal communication processes of the global company.
Since January 2018, she has been working at the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons.
