Digital Business Management
Armando Schär holds a PhD from the University of St.Gallen, where he also obtained a Master's degree in Information, Media and Technology Management and a degree in Business Education. Since 2015, he has been Director of Studies for the Digital Business Management Bachelor's program at the UAS Graubünden. He was responsible for its development, curriculum, marketing, implementation and further development from a course of study to a recognized degree program. He was also involved in the development of the Master's program in User Experience Design. He has been a lecturer for Marketing, PR & Online Marketing at the university since 2013.
At the Swiss Institute of Information Science at the UAS Graubünden, Armando Schär was deputy head of the institute and led research projects on digital business, contributing his expertise to the exploration of innovative solutions and strategies for the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Prior to his time at the UAS Graubünden, he worked as a senior consultant at the web agency Namics (now Merkle) and helped shape the market positioning for the Web Solutions business area in Switzerland and Germany as Business Development Manager. He was also a lecturer in economics and worked at the Swiss Center for Innovations in Learning at the University of St.Gallen.
As Vice-President (Prorector), Armando Schär is responsible for the Blended Learning Center, Student Services, Quality Management, the Foreign Languages and Mathematics/Physics specialist groups and the Vice-President's Office. He also heads the “Ressort Lehre” and “Ressort Continuing Education”. As a member of the Executive Board, he is the Rector's first deputy.
