Following his commercial apprenticeship, Norbert Hörburger completed a degree in business administration in accounting and controlling at the University of Applied Sciences in Kempten im Allgäu. He also completed a consecutive Master of Business Administration in Financial Services at the University of Liechtenstein.
Norbert Hörburger was a partner and managing director of the Kur- und Ferienhotel Alpenhof in Oberstaufen for 15 years. He gained practical experience in tourism consulting during 5 years as a senior consultant at Dr. Christoph Nussbaumer Strategy Consultants GmbH in Hohenems, Austria.
Mr. Hörburger has been employed at the Institute for Tourism and Leisure since 2012. From 2013 to 2023, he was Deputy Head of Research & Services. His areas of interest include tourism project development and the strategic positioning of tourism businesses. He also deals with financing and investment issues in the tourism real estate industry.
In addition to his teaching activities in tourism management subjects at the University of Applied Sciences Graubünden, Norbert Hörburger is a co-partner and co-managing director of Hotelinvest GmbH in Thal (SG), which brokers hotels, resorts and exclusive vacation properties.
