Service Innovation and Design

On August 21, 2017, Dominik Knaus started his position as a Research Associate at the Institute for Tourism and Leisure (ITF). Before and during his Bachelor's studies, Dominik Lukas Knaus held leadership support and management roles in various tourism businesses in the sports sector. After completing his Bachelor's degree in Tourism at the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons, he pursued a part-time consecutive Master's degree at HWZ Zurich with a major in Strategic Management. During his Master's studies, he was responsible for the Product Development & Innovation department at a leading tourism organization.

He deepened his knowledge in Open Innovation through further education in Innovation Management, which subsequently led him to the innovation consulting agency HYVE Innovation Switzerland (formerly ATIZO 360°). In addition to his work at the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons, Dominik Lukas Knaus continues to work in private sector companies in the field of Innovation Management. Since joining the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons in 2017, Dominik Knaus has been instrumental in building and expanding the degree program in Service Innovation & Design, where he also teaches the major modules in Service Design.

In September, 2021, he took over as head of the Service Innovation and Design program, and as of September, 2023, he assumed the role of head of the Institute for Tourism and Leisure (ITF) at the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons.

 In both summer and winter, Dominik Knaus enjoys spending time in nature in the Davos Klosters region and finds balance in craft activities.
